The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries achieves international standard certification in marine space services


 The Directorate of Marine Spatial Planning, Directorate General of Marine and Marine Spatial Management (PKRL) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries received an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certificate for Services for Conformity of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (KKPRL).

This success shows that the policies and quality objectives as well as the achievement of marine space services are considered to have met international standards.

"We must be able to ensure that the services we provide are of high quality by implementing a certified quality management system," said Director General of Marine and Marine Space Management Victor Gustaaf Manoppo in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Furthermore, Victor also requested that all his staff be able to implement, maintain and maintain the quality of his services, bearing in mind that the certificate that has been received can be canceled if the implementation is not appropriate.

"I remind the entire team to continue to carry out services in accordance with the standards that have been set. "In the future, I also encourage all work units to carry out ISO 37001:2016 certification, namely the Anti-Bribery Management System," said Victor.

Secretary of the Directorate General of Marine and Spatial Management, Kusdiantoro, explained that previously in 2022 and 2023, the Directorate General of PKRL through 6 Technical Implementation Units (UPT) had also received international standard quality management recognition in the form of an ISO 9001:2015 Certificate.

The 6 UPTs are BPSPL Padang, BPSPL Pontianak, BPSPL Makassar, BKKPN Kupang, LPSPL Serang and LKKPN Pekanbaru.

Meanwhile, the Director of PT QAI Indonesia Joko Nursapto as the auditor who submitted the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate explained that there are three scopes of this certification, namely Business KKPRL Approval, Non-Business KKPRL Approval and KKPRL Confirmation.

"ISO 9001:2015 is a vehicle for the Directorate General of PKRL to ensure the implementation of public services and business processes in accordance with applicable procedures," he said.

Furthermore, Joko explained that ISO can be used as an effort to improve performance processes to ensure that personnel standards and competencies have been implemented, including in administrative and supervisory functions.

Joko supports if ISO 9001:2015 is integrated with ISO 37001:2016 to create a Corruption-Free Area Integrity Zone/Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area.
